How to hand age tags tutorial

Okay, so I have shared this one place and I've had a couple of people wanting to share it on their blog. That's totally find with me. However, I did notice that I haven't even uploaded it onto mine!!!! Am I crazy?! So here I am finally putting it all together for my own blog! TA DA! :) 

First you are going to want to cut your tag to the size that you want. For this tag, I  made it 2 inches by 3 inches

There ya' have it! Your stamped & hand aged hang tag! 

Mine is of a little deer. 

This technique is addicting, because now, I don't have anything that doesn't have this detail on it. Even if I do green paper, sometimes I will use a different shade of green ink to apply.

Top Hat Tags

These Top Hat tags could work on so many levels! Wedding, "Magic" Birthday party theme, Royalty, etc.


They measure 1 1/2 inches across.... Wanna know how I got the look? 


I cut 1 1/2 inch scalloped circles.
Stamped the Hat in the center.
Then inked the edges with a light charcoal color to give detail.
Then punched a hole at the top.
Prestrung with white twine. 


I like little tags like this because you can use them for so many things. Tie onto packages, wine stems, presents, homemade goodies, on special presents, garlands & wreaths, tie around a napkin, scrapbook pages, for journaling, bottle of wine, cards or even on your inspiration board. They also make a sweet hostess gift & customer appreciation tags. Write a personalized thank you & tuck them in their package.

Custom Order that I was SOOOO Happy with!

I had a customer request to create trim, sew in labels and tags for an absolutely BEAUTIFUL company! If you have a little girl in your life, you have to check out her website! Molly Dendy. This is the first time I've created a specific order like this. I had a blast! Here are some photos to show you my completed work.

For the trim, it measures 36" long. I've stamped the scrolls all the way down the trim, and at one end, I've stamped her company name.

More Organizing Ideas....

Are your scrapbook and crafting supplies crazily everywhere (like mine)? Well, I've been doing my homework and I've found some more solutions!

- Use a lazy susan on your table to put your little containers. You can spin it to find what you need

- Keep all your little plastic containers from cream cheese, cottage cheese, etc. to store items

- Shoe boxes for all sorts of things!

- Cut a hanger, add your ribbon on, and then retape it.

- Sort ribbons by color in ziploc baggies and keep in a rubbermaid

- Under the bed storage containers. These would be better for things that you don't use alot but can't part with.

- Keep your eye out for microwave carts, bookshelves and more at yard sales. Paint, decorate, etc to match your decor. Then go to the dollar store and find little buckets. You may even be able to paint some to make everything coordinate.

- If the items on your shelves cannot be displayed "sweetly" nomatter how hard you try, install a roller shade. That way you can pull it down to hide, and simply lift it up when you need to. HINT: You can even stencil it if you really wanna get fancy! :)

Organizing Craft Supplies

Use a SPINNING SPICE RACK to hold small items such as brads, eyelets, rhinestones and more.

TACKLE BOXES: At Walmart you can find really cheap tackle boxes. These are great and open up to where it is easy to find anything.

SHOE CADDY: An over the door shoe caddy. These are nice because you can get clear ones and see everything you have. You can also find these at the dollar store.

PENS AND PENCILS: With pens and pencils, you're going to want to keep these close. Old mugs, planters and such things work great.

CLEAR STAMPS: I buy baseball card sheets. The kind that are 8 x 11 and go into the binder and have 9 pockets. I use these to keep my clear acrylic stamps on. The studio G stamps fit perfectly. If you have larger sheets (which I do) you simply cut them down to fit. Keep the acrylic stamps on the clear sheets that they were on when they were bought. This is what makes them slide easily in and out of the pockets.

STENCILS: I keep all my stencils in binders. If they don't have holes punched in them already, take your hole puncher and make them. If you can't, then slip them in a page protector and add that to your album.

BEADS: I put all my beads in three-drawer desktop organizers. I separate by shape and then by color. I do the same with findings, cords, hardware and plastic bags and business cards, etc. It makes designing a new piece so easy and needed supplies quickly accessed.

BABY FOOD JARS: Use baby food jars to store small items.

STICKERS: Use a file system for your stickers. Sort by Alpha, Girl, Boy, Colors, Shapes..... ANY way that you feel comfortable with finding your items. Keeping Alpha's together is a main recomendation though :)

Use PHOTO ALBUMS to store stickers. It makes it easy to flip through and look for a sticker that you may need.

YARN: Store your skeins of yarn in 2 liter soda bottles. Cut the bottom off, thread the yarn through the top, and tape the bottle back together. No more tangled yarn!

BABY WIPE CONTAINER: Use Baby Wipe Containers and small containers like crystal light, etc. to hold things

START A BUTTON JAR: New garments often have an extra button and is often in a tiny plastic bag attached somewhere to the garment. Instead of discarding the extra button, place it in a jar with a lid and start your own button jar.

FABRIC: Use the inner cardboard liners from bolts of fabrics to store your fabric. Stores will give them to you if you ask. Cut them in half and use them to wrap individual yardages around and store, upright, in those legal-sized cardboard boxes you get from office supply stores. You have only to glance at the top of the box to see what fabric you have in storage and each piece of fabric is the same size and standing straight up in the box.

Make These Birthday Tags!

Happy Birthday Tags Tutorial.....

1) Cut cream colored cardstock into rectangles measuring 2  1/2 inches by 1  1/2 inches.

2) Take scalloped scissors (or any shape you would like) and trim all the way around

3) Then take your hat image (or any image) and stamp in the center

4) Add your stickles or glue and glitter to the center of the pom pom on top and the bottom. If you are using a different image, add glitter to accent, not overpower the image. 

5) Then you will take your fine tip marker of a coordinating shade and add polka dots all around

6) Then you hand ink the edges You do this by simply by brushing your ink pad on the edges. 

7) Cut your twine 12 inches (or shorter if you need) and string your tags.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Happy Mother's day! 


I hope everyone is who is a mother, grandmother, stepmother, future mother and more are having a wonderful day today! 


It's also my daughter's birthday today!!! My BABY is 9 today! She is quite the spunky and smart little chick too! She is me through and through and sometimes it amazes me. 


As a Mom, you don't realize all that we do. We go about our days and do what we do because we pretty much have to. We don't give things much thought. Kids need this, we need to clean that, etc We just do it. It isn't until Mother's day (even for us) that we realize as the kids are talking about why they love us what we really do. And how it's the small things too! Like simply making sure you tuck their blankets under their chin at night. And it's amazing how these little humans are utterly dependent on us. So today, I am reflecting on the fact that I may not be the perfect Mom (at all times, lol) but I try so hard and love my kids more than anything in this world. The unconditional love for your children is something beyond words. 


So today I am going to:
--hug and kiss my kids extra all day and annoy them.
--Thank god that they're healthy and pray for the ones who aren't.
--Remember how lucky I am to wake up to them another day.
--Realize that I am creating the future and try my hardest. 
--and remember that those messes are going to be missed one day. 


And onto a happy photo! My little (she's 9 now, but she still stands up to my shoulder and I'm 5'8''- lol) Mrs.Stealing Mom's Clothes already Mackenzie.
