My New Adventure with Goodsmiths....

Well, I signed up to be alerted when Goodsmith's was up and running and it finally came through. Then they were only accepting Dwolla, so I waited a little longer because they said they were waiting for PayPal to approve them. Well, PayPal finally came through and now I set up a little shop on Goodsmiths just to check it out... Let me tell you about my experience....

Well, So far I like it... Really easy to set up... And it's pretty much just like setting up on etsy... So I am pretty positive... Now I know computers make glitches, but here are the things that I had a little trouble with....

1. Import Tool....
Well, I had trouble with the import tool. I have at the time 192 items in my etsy shop. When I imported them to goodsmiths, only 98 were imported. However, that could also be because of the file that I downloaded from Etsy. You have to download a CSV file from etsy and then upload it to Goodsmiths....

2. Shipping....
Where as you can save your shipping profiles on etsy, you can't do so with Goodsmiths. And another drawback was that I can't offer combined shipping easily on Goodsmiths, which means I will have to go back and refund customers who purchase more than one item... That's kinda stinky. However, I am sure Goodsmith's is working on this (hoping) and since they are only in Beta mode with a "soft launch", they just haven't gotten there yet.

Here are a few awesome points...
1. It costs NOTHING to list on Goodsmiths... And it's only 2% if your item sells rather than 3.5% like others...

2. Easy and simple to list items...

Here's a screenshot of when I go to the Goodsmith's home page....

I definitely recommend it and think it's worth checking out....

And if you want to check it out, here's the link again.... https://www.goodsmiths.com
And if you want to see my shop on Goodsmiths, https://www.goodsmiths.com/sweetly-scrapped

I am going to change a few things on my appearance and fine tune it, but I thought I would try it first before I went all "crazy" designing and changing things (banners, etc).

Hope everyone is having an amazing Mother's Day too!!! XOXOXOOXO
I know I did!

DIY Goodie Bags

Well tonight, I was looking through pinterest and I saw this goodie bag where you emboss them. Very cute. However, I only had lunch sized bags and it wasn't working with my sizzix. So I decided I would improvise. I already had everything out. Well, here's my little photo tutorial on it all..... I hope you like and I'm sure you'll come up with your own style and twist as well.....

First I got out my embossing folders....

Then I got together my paper bags....

Then I folded the bottom flap down so they touched eachother so I can cut JUST the bottoms....

This is how I cut....

So then I am left with this to cut off....

So Now I have two....

So now we are going to take one of them.....

Now choose your tape....

And now just tape the bottom of your bag...

Then fold it up to the other side....

Then trim the edges....

Then I took my scalloped punch for detail...

So it now looks like this...

I then place this in my embossing folder....

Then I put it in my Sizzix... and now I have this....

Like I said, I'm sure you'll be able to put your own twist on this also and I hope you do!
Hope you are having a great weekend! And Happy Mother's Day to you Mommies of ALL ages!!!!

Browsing around the internet....

Well, tonight I was browsing online to check my SEO. Where I show up, with what keywords, etc. and what I could work on. Well, while I was doing it, I happened to come across a few posts where I was mentioned and decided to check them out. They're bloggers too, so you may want to check them out....

A while back I did a post with free frames. Well, she used these frames and created a banner with them....

The blogs name is Lars Love and here is her photo....
See the bunting/banner at the top with the frames?! How cool is that!!! love it! :)
It really made me happy to see how someone creatively used these!

You can see all her photos by going HERE
Just thought I'd share her blog and what she made with the free printables!
Thanks so much! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

And then right before Valentine's Day I shared the "You're Just My Type" tags and over at Dawn's Craft Corner, she made this sweet card with them!

And then cut it in half and used it on this card....

You can find her post HERE

and here are the free printable tags...
Click download and then when it opens in a new window, right click and choose "save as"
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
